August is family history month in New Zealand and Australia and is fast approaching. There are plenty of events happening across New Zealand with Auckland and Christchurch holding a Family History Expo. I have been to a few of these in Auckland and there is always something for everyone.
Christchurch will be hosting there expo from 2nd – 3rd August, check here for further details. ,https://my.christchurchcitylibraries.com/family-history-expo/
A full programme of weekend events for Auckland (8th – 10th August) is still to be announced, check here for further details: https://genealogy.org.nz/Family-History-Month/11216/
This year Chris Paton will be attending both the Christchurch expo and the Auckland Expo in person. Chris specialises in Scottish and Irish research, has written many books, and is a tutor at Pharos Tutors. https://www.facebook.com/share/p/16SoEQNXi1/
Shout out to Pharos Tutors, they have some great courses, definitely worth a look if you are looking to improve your skill set.
The New Zealand Society of Genealogists has details on their website for events happening around the country. https://genealogy.org.nz/Family-History-Month/11216/
Looking forward to attending the Auckland Expo, particularly Chris’s presentation. See you all there!
